Oh what do you do in the Summer time?

The other night I went to a Relief Society meeting on family traditions! It was taught by an amazing and very inspiring lady! She had so many fun ideas that it really got me thinking about what things I want to do with our family to create close bonds and just have fun together! I want to share some ideas that I got there but for now I thought I would just focus on Summer time fun. I for Spencer and I every day is pretty much the same, no matter the season. But I know things will be different as more kids come along and as they grow up. So I want to start planing now :) Some of these ideas came from the lady that taught the class, some from people there that shared ideas and some are from ideas I got online at different places. Please leave a comment with some of your own ideas!

love all the ideas, i might have to copy this list or print it out. we love to bbq in the back yard and make smores. We like to go for a walk, put the kids in the wagon and go to baskin robins down the street. in AZ we really like to play in water, sprinklers are my best friend in the summer.

I don't have any ideas, but I'm so sad I missed the activity! Ahhh! I even had the flyer on my fridge and I STILL forgot! I'm so lame. I agree. I'm going to print off this list for my own future use. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks for sharing. I wish I were closer so I could have gone to that. She always has the best ideas! As far as what we do in the summer time - I have some lazy days & some scheduled days (like Mondays are always library & park; Wednesdays the dino park in Odgen; etc) And for really little ones I have a new found love for kiddie pools & sand boxes (if only we owned one!)

Star gazing!

Very fun ideas! I've been trying to think of some of our own traditions. I don't think we've been married long enough to have traditions yet!

How funny. There's been a few people now that have mentioned missing the traditions night. maybe I'll plan another one at my house....?

Here's my ideas (taken from our summer to-do list):

watermelon seed spittin' contest, see a play production, build sandcastle, block art show, shower in the garden hose, tie dye t-shirts, see a baseball game, read a classic, breakfast in the park, scavenger hunt, treasure hunt, wade in the river and skip rocks, pet store, Lagoon (we've never been), PJ day, Farmer's market, make salsa, visit a museum, concert in the park, night games, summer camp, nature walk, wash the car in our swimsuit.....

oh, gee, that was a lot.

it is going to be a FUN summer.

Love, Bree
